Atari 2600 Donkey Kong Jr Game Cartridge

In the arcades, Donkey Kong Jr was one of my favorite video games and was the only stand up arcade game I ever beat! So it holds a special spot in my heart, which also means that I am very picky about ports to other platforms like the Atari 2600. This version gets my stamp of approval. Even though the graphics are rudimentary, you still get a good feel of the original.

As Donkey Kong Jr you must swing on vines, avoid chomping traps and flying birds to rescue your father, Donkey Kong, from the clutches of Mario. The different levels do a good job of representing the original game.

I would not hesitate to recommend this classic to anyone. I would rate the gameplay for this one at 8-10 and the controls a 6-10. So my overall rating of 7-10 meaning that this game is a not only fun, but very playable as well.
