Commodore 64 Defender Game Cartridge

(Atarisoft - 1983)

Commodore 64 Defender Cartridge
This version of the arcade hit, Defender, is very faithful to the original game. It is fast paced and exciting to play just like the full sized arcade game and the controls are similar, including smart bombs and hyperspace.
You must battle alien swarms of fighters, bombers and landers to dave the humans on your planet. The landers attempt to abduct the humans on the ground and convert them into relentless mutant attackers. If you fail to save the humans, all is lost and your planet is destroyed.
I was happy with the graphics and gameplay of this game since they closely matched the original. It is easy to sink a lot of time into this video game and have fun doing it. I would rate the gameplay a solid 8-10 and the controls at 7-10... so overall the Commodore 64 version of Defender ranks a 8-10 for me.
