Mattel Aquarius 4 Color Printer/Plotter - Model 4615R

(Mattel Electronics - 1983)

Aquarius 4-Color Printer/Plotter
The Mattel Aquarius 4-Color Printer is one of the hardest peripherals for the Aquarius home computer. The name "Four Color Printer" is a little disambiguous of what the unit truly is, which is a four color pen plotter.
As a plotter, this unit has the capability to draw continuous, free flowing lines and arcs instead of in a dot matrix style. It has superior 40 or 80 column text printing capabilities as each character is "drawn" instead of created with a series of dots like most printers of the era.

Back of the Aquarius 4-Color Printer/Plotter
The 4-color printer is formed in the same style as the Aquarius computer itself, keeping the same sleek lines. It is a very compact unit for what it is. But one drawback is that the paper rolls are on;y 4-1/2" wide, making the printouts impractical for most uses.
Pen storage for the Aquarius 4-Color Printer/Plotter
The four pens (red, blue, green, black) are stored in a slot underneath the unit when they are not in use. There is room for a spare set of pens in the same storage area.
All in all, this printer is one of the coolest accessories for your Mattel Aquarius home computer. So if you can find one of these insanely rare units, you won't be disappointed.
