Mattel Aquarius Multicart Game Cartridge - Model 001
(Jay Snellen III - 2010)
I ran into a great guy online named Jay... we did some trading and I found out he was in the process of creating a Mattel Aquarius multicart. This news made my jaw drop as most people overlook the Aquarius when doing homebrews and the like. I excitedly struck a deal with him and am now the proud owner of the 2nd 128k 8-in-1 multi-cart prototype he produced.
The cartridge looks phenomenal. There is a series of three switches on the end of the cartridge to select which game to play, while the games and switch positions are conveniently listed on the end label.
The benefits of this cartridge are threefold. One, it is sooooo convenient to be able to play any of the 8 games just by simply setting the switches and turning the machine on. Two, there is less wear and tear on your cartridge port and game cartridges by not having to switch cartridges. Three, it contains some hard to find titles that may not be in your collection. And let's face it, it is pretty darn cool!
I would say this cartridge rates a solid 9-10. So if you want a fun diversion on your Aquarius, you just can't beat a multicart.
