Legendary Axe II Hu Card (Game Cartridge)

(NEC - 1990)

TurboGrafx Legendary Axe II Game Cartridge
Although the name would imply it, Legendary Axe II is not a sequel to the Legendary Axe. The Japanese translation of the name is Demon Legend, so some people speculate that the name was just a gimmick to detract from another system's popular game Golden Axe.
In this platformer, you must reclaim the throne from your evil brother. Battling through seven levels armed with four weapons... your sword, axe, sickle chain and crude bombs. There are really no surprises in this game and it is kind of a letdown if you were expecting a continuation of the Legendary Axe story line.
I'm not saying that the game isn't fun, there just isn't anything special in it to make it stand out from the pack.
I would say that the game play for this cartridge rates 6-10, controls 8-10, and overall 7-10. If you just want some mindless platform gaming fun, this one will fit the bill for you.
