Timex Sinclair Personal Printer - 2042
One of the hallmarks of any computing platform is the ability to provide output to the user in a variety of manners. Hardcopies are the cornerstone of this concept, and this TS-2040 printer for the Timex Sinclair 1000 provided that functionality to the platform. But like most thermal printers of the era, the paper was only 4-3/8"(110mm) wide so it was not useful for more than printing basic programs and pictures.
You could print using either the Basic "COPY" command, which printed whatever was currently on the screen, or the Basic "LPRINT" command that printed individual characters or lines (which mad it useful for simple word processing tasks). The LLIST command would print any program that was in memory.
For how inexpensive it is, this is a surprisingly reliable little printer so long as you remember to turn it off between uses... if you forget the motor can overheat and damage the electronics in the printer.
