If you love the idea of playing of a classic voice driven game which features a fun Egyptian theme, simply continue reading in order to discover a guide to playing Voice of the Mummy. Which was a classic three dimensional board game which was originally released by Milton Bradley in 1971.
A Guide to Playing Voice of the Mummy Game:
Your goal will be to explore a multi-level pyramid in order to collect valuable gems:
In Voice of the Mummy 2-4 players will explore a multi-level pyramid in order to collect valuable gems. Each of which will differ in value. Once one player reaches the pyramid’s sarcophagus and claims the Great Jewel, each player will have to race back to their starting temple as quickly as possible. The winner of the game is the player who returns back to their temple with the highest gem value.
If you believe that you own the most valuable collection of gems it’s well worth racing to the pyramid’s sarcophagus:
If you are pretty sure that you currently own the most valuable collection of gems, your goal should be to race to the pyramid’s sarcophagus to claim the Great Jewel. In order to force all of the other players to stop gem collecting and to return home.
However, keep in mind that if you race to the sarcophagus and another player picks up a rare gem just before you claim the Great Jewel, you may very well cost yourself the game. Unless you turn back to try and find a rarer gem, before they claim the Great Jewel and begin the game’s end sequence. Also keep in mind that even if you have a strategy in mind, if the voice of the mummy disagrees with you, you may not be able to carry out your plans.
Make sure to listen to the mummy:
One of the reason why Voice of the Mummy amassed a cult following is that it featured a record player, which would feature the voice of a mummy. Instead of rolling a dice, the voice of the mummy would tell each player when to move and when to collect gems. However don’t worry while the mummy can tell you how many spaces you can move, they can’t tell you which direction you can move in and there is still a huge amount of strategy which is involved with playing Voice of the Mummy.
If you’ve never played a voice activated three dimensional board game, you’re sure to fall in love with Voice of the Mummy’s unique features and gameplay. Especially if you have a soft spot for classic board games.
